About

the

Artist

Born in Manila, the artist graduated with a BFA in Painting from the University of the Philippines Diliman. Her work often drifts between the whimsical and the weighty—where domestic rituals, imaginary companions, and quiet griefs share the same canvas.

She has held seven solo exhibitions to date, including Still, Life (Boston Gallery, 2003), Gravity Always Wins (Pablo Gallery, 2013), Homebodies (Pablo Gallery, 2014), Boxes Bowls Bellars (Post Gallery, 2015), Alice It Isn’t Real (Pablo Gallery, 2017), A Sovereign Tea Party (Pablo Gallery, 2019), and I Made You Soft So I Can Hold You (Post Gallery, 2024). Her practice began in oil on canvas, but over time it has grown to include mixed media and installation—where softness, tension, and storytelling meet.

She lives and works in Quezon City, and is represented by Pablo Galleries. Her work continues to ask: What happens when memory misbehaves, and what does tenderness look like when it’s unraveling?
